Another award as RCP Parking puts safety first

Putting safety first has earned national car park operator RCP Parking Ltd another award. The business has secured a Park Mark Safer Parking Award for its site at Tolworth Tower in Surbiton, Surrey, as part of a national police campaign to put the brakes on crime and to make car park users feel more secure.RCP already has five Park Mark awards for various sites in London, Stockport and Coventry, and is determined to gain certificates for its car parks across the country. The Norwich-based company operates an 85-space multistorey car park at Tolworth Tower on behalf of associated property group Targetfollow, which bought the landmark 21-floor building in a £60 million deal last summer.Park Mark is an initiative of the Association of Chief Police Officers, managed by the British Parking Association and supported by the Home Office. To qualify, parking operators must show a police assessment team that they have put in place measures that help to deter criminal activity and anti-social behaviour.RCP Parking director Shapoor Naghshineh said: “The site has CCTV cameras and we have provided on-site security and extra signage to assist customers and visitors. I’m extremely pleased with all our Park Mark awards, which reflect the emphasis that RCP Parking has always put on the safety and security of our car park customers and their vehicles.” He added: “We are making sure that the Park Mark accreditation is prominent in all our new signage, so people can clearly see they are using a car park that is approved by senior police officers. Safety and security are very important to motorists when they leave their vehicles in our care, and I do believe it is a key factor they take into account when deciding where to park these days.”
